Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop: Flowers

Hey guys! I'm linking up with GussySews this week for Inspiration workshop: FLOWERS!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner and all the crisp, cool air we've been having I've certainly been inspired by the season! I think Autumn must be my favorite time of year; you can definitely tell from the color scheme in our living room. Our fireplace mantle is jam packed with Autumn colors like brown, deep red, burnt orange, cream, and blue all year 'round. I love it!

My favorite part about this time of year is when the leaves change color. You probably couldn't tell but the flowers in the picture below were actually made with LEAVES! Be sure and click on the link to see the awesome DIY. Wouldn't this make a lovely thanksgiving centerpiece?!

I love how whimsical this next centerpiece is. How cute are the mini pumpkin candle holders?! I can just imagine the magical mood of the evening; with such a heart warming surrounding I'm sure wonderful memories would be made.

And finally, I had to share this cute little plate that I scored at a garage sale recently. I wish I had a whole set. They would definitely be our Thanksgiving plates. :)

Inspiration Workshop Week #13 {Favorite Color}

I think this is only the second time I've had a chance to link up with Gussy. And I'm so excited about this one because it's all about color! Here is the prompt from Gussy's blog:

THE PROMPT ~
This week’s prompt is YOUR FAVORITE COLOR. When you think about that phrase, do you think of a memory that involves your favorite color? Do you think about your home that is bursting with your favorite color? Do you think about beige, which is secretly your favorite color?! {tee hehe}

Sorry guys, I can't pick just one favorite color! So I decided I'll share my favorite color to decorate with, to see/be around, and to wear! That's three colors y'all.

First up: Sea Foam Green or light Turquoise 

UM hello! My name is Mandy, and I'm obsessed with this color, I can't help myself. Anytime I see any kind of decoration that's sea foam green or a variation of it I instantly fall in love. It's really bad you guys. My couch and comfy chair are that color, the paintings in my living room have it in them, I have candle holders and accent decorations ALL in sea foam green. I haven't taken it over board YET but it's getting close.

The birdie and the candle holder were purchased from two different flea market trips. You can read about the bird & some other great thrifted finds here. I love flea markets. Did you notice that even the dogs' bed matches?!

Next up: Green, the color of nature.

I'd like to find a place like this on a hike.

& Lastly: I LoOve Cream/White shirts.

I have this really thin, linen white flow-y top from target that I love. It's probably my favorite shirt because I wear it a lot and I've had it for a few years now. I wore it yesterday actually. I have a similar one that's 3/4 sleeved from Old Navy. I also have a sleeveless one that I never wear. The shirt has no shape but I hold on to it because I like it on the hanger and still hope that maybe someday I'll actually like it on, or find a different way to wear it. I found a few other shirts on pinterest that caught my eye....

I think I like white/cream tops so much because you can get really creative with your accessories and outer wear. It's like a blank canvas!

Inspiration Workshop Week #8

THE PROMPT ~ (from Gussy Sews website)
This week’s prompt is YOUR INSPIRATION ~ where you pick the prompt/share whatever you’d like! I’m especially excited to see the topic you select AND to read through and pin some of the photos you share ;]



The thing that inspires me the most is the time I spend with God. To be quite honest though, the past couple of weeks I haven't even thought about Him, prayed, read the word, or fellowshipped with other believers. So I haven't felt too inspired. Having said that, I just sat down, read Proverbs chapter 22 (I like to read whatever chapter corresponds with the current date) and I haven't felt more alive, awake, or inspired in weeks! :)

The verses that really spoke to me were Proverbs Chapter 22 verse 4 and Proverbs Chapter 22 verse 11. I bet they'll speak to you too.

I also like a good book. I've read Mere Christianity before but it's been so long that I figured it was time to read it again. If you like a good book that will make you think, reaffirm your beliefs, and get you excited about God and his kingdom then this is a book you would like.



My best friend, who is getting married this upcoming Saturday (Woohoo!) got this beautiful Vera Bradley coffee cup for my birthday this year. I love coffee and I love pretty coffee cups. I drink out of it daily so I'm sure some of my more inspired ideas came about whilst drinking out of this pretty cup. :)

Sunshine Sunshine!

This week’s prompt is SUNSHINE! When you hear that word, do you think of the outside? Do you think of the color? Of a summer memory?!

Sunshine makes me think of yellow.... is that obvious or what?! And Summer, of course! I can't get enough yellow right now.
