Autumn...Inspire me.

Well, it's been awhile since I've made a post. I had one in my drafts entitled Uninspired, which sort of explains my lack of activity on the technology front. That, and I've been a little bit busy. We went to L.A. last weekend for a marriage conference! 14 people (seven couples) from our tiny little home-based fellowship flew out to L.A. where our friends live while they go to school. I loved California! I'll post pictures from our trip sometime soon.

Back to being uninspired...yeah, that's how I've felt lately. In the post I never published I blamed it on the state our office/craft room is in {a wreck}; however, I could easily fix that dilemma by cleaning up and organizing it so I don't think that's what it is. I think it's a mixture of laziness and a creative funk. I really am excited about my sleep mask idea, I just haven't had the desire to do it yet. Do you ever feel that way? Like you want to do something but at the same time you don't want to? Almost like you can't?

Thanks to the weather finally changing I'm being inspired elsewhere. Whenever Autumn comes around I think of pretty wreaths adorning front doors, the leaves changing colors, pumpkins, crisp cool air, apple pies, pumpkin pies, scarves etc. I'd really like to make a wreath for our front door so I've taken a look at Pinterest for some ideas.

Look at this awesome leaf bunting tutorial! I think I need to make this for my fireplace mantel. Totally not a wreath but is worthy of sharing!

I'd really love to make a yarn wreath. I think they're so pretty! This one looks more Christmas-y but I loved the birdy so much. Wouldn't it look awesome in fall colors? & maybe do felt leaves or flowers instead of the holly bush outline? And a miniature bunting that says welcome in the top left portion (saw this on another wreath on Pinterest.)

I think this one is my favorite because I know it will pop from the street. I love the colors as it is but it reminds me more of Spring so I'd definitely go for more earth tones or maybe not, I don't know!

Maybe I'll get my booty in gear and get the office organized this weekend. Hopefully, I'll make a wreath while I'm at it. Yep, that'd make me happy.

What do you do to get yourself out of a creative funk? Please do share! I think it would help me. :)

InstaFriday- Football, Latte's, & a Picnic

Hey y'all I'm linking up with Life Rearranged for InstaFriday!

Last Saturday was the first Razorback game of the season and our first time to go as season ticket holders! We rode with Dallas' parents and aunt and uncle to the game. We stopped for yummy food and drinks at Jose's before heading over to the game.

Us before the game. We cuuute together. :)

Go HOGS!

First PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE of the season!! :)

This was my favorite picture from our picnic lunch yesterday. I love those chubby baby fingers, so innocent and sweet. Kinda sorta gives me baby fever. ;-)

Have a great weekend y'all! And Go Hogs! I'll definitely be watching the game Saturday.

A Picnic

I've had the weirdest viral infection ever. It's called hand, foot, and mouth disease. It's a virus that affects mainly infants and children but adults can get it too. I think Noah had a little spout of it last week. Our friends had it first so I'm guessing we picked it up from them. Some of the symptoms are cold sores in your mouth and blisters on your hands and feet {more info here}. I had 7 tiny blisters on the palms of my hands and two blisters on the side of my pinky toe and the toe next to it. I haven't really felt sick my mouth just hurts SO BAD. I can't even smile without it hurting. Needless to say, I've been a little bit cranky and short-tempered. I've also tried to avoid talking as much as possible.

So I was sitting outside feeling sorry for myself while Noah was playing and I started feeling sorry for him instead because I realized I haven't been the nicest person the past few days. Just then it occurred to me how I could make it up to him...a nice relaxing picnic! The weather is so nice out right now...a breezy 75 degrees. We made our way inside, I grabbed our picnic quilt, and prepared our lunch. For Noah I made popcorn chicken, string cheese, pita bread with peanut butter, and blueberries for dessert. I had chicken salad in a pita pocket and shared some of Noah's blueberries. We had a healthy lunch all around. I was so proud of him, he ate EVERYTHING I gave him except a couple bites of his pita & peanut butter {because I stole some}.

Yeah, we picnic'd in our front yard. Is that hillbilly?

Thanks orajel for helping me muster up this smile. ;-)

pretty old quilt that my mom's mom made...i think.

Stupid cold sores, you're not going to ruin my day! We're going to have fun anyway! And we did. Now Noah is taking his nap and all is quiet and peaceful in the house. I'm so thankful for this nice weather and that I'm able to be at home with the most important little person in my life. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love watching him grow and learn. I love raising him all day everyday. We're so BLESSED!

InstaFriday - Cuteness Overload.

It's Friday, which marks a four day weekend for this family! Yay!!! Hope you all enjoy your families this weekend. Enjoy the following pics, and beware of cuteness overload. :)

Sweet little kitty Dakota. She likes to cuddle. And she plays fetch like a dog. Best cat ever.

Here's sweet little man giving his froggy sugars!

We went on a walk with our friend Sarah at a local park then played on the playground afterwards. We were the only ones there! How lucky were we?!

And lastly, I already told y'all about this but I came up with a new product idea yesterday! It's not finished yet but isn't it cute? It's a sleep mask.

Beauty Sleep

Hey guys! I came up with something so cute today that I couldn't wait to share it with you!! I still need to come up with a catchy name for it but for now it's Beauty Sleep.

Obviously it isn't finished. I still need to make the bias tape and put the elastic on it. But is it not adorable?!

Why did I decide to make a sleep mask you ask? Well, to be honest there's too much light seeping through our window at night and I think it keeps me from sleeping well. My mom had given me an ugly sleep mask that she got in the newspaper, of all places! And I just thought, sleep masks usually remind me of luxury and spa days, I need to make a cute one! Long story short, I'm really liking it so far. Look for some to start popping up in the shop. I hope you like them!

Let me know what you think. What color combos/patterns would you like to see?
